Development Updates

What changed recently.

Plot Luck publishes public development notes so testers and reviewers can see the work behind the map instead of having to infer it from a version number.

PlotLuck Android is available on Google Play

Google Play Console now reports the initial production release, version 21 (Plot Luck 1.0.15), as Available on Google Play with a full rollout to 178 countries and regions. Players can explore the live Android game; a separate no-login public demo lets anyone preview the basic movement, territory and DIG mechanics without an account or live GPS.

Google Play production access granted

Google Play approved Plot Luck (com.plotluck.app) for production access following its Android closed test. This unlocks the ability to submit a public release; it does not by itself mean the app is published.

First Android production release submitted for review

Plot Luck 1.0.15 (Android version 21) has been submitted to Google Play Production for review. At the time this milestone was recorded, the release was still awaiting approval; it was subsequently published on October 27, 2026. The Android build includes production AdMob integration, but ad serving and app readiness remain subject to separate AdMob verification.

New responsive game interface

A five-button illustrated dock, clearer resources, new inventory visuals, and ongoing compact-screen HUD and MOVE refinements help make the map easier to play on phones and desktops. These improvements remain under device testing.

Daily Adventures and Movement Field Guide

Daily gameplay objectives now connect floating Upgrade Token pickups, Ghost movement and DIG, alongside a replayable guide to GPS, GPS REACH, Ghost and Teleport.

Make PlotLuck Great Again: game first

PlotLuck refocused on enjoyable territory-gameplay, progression and exploration first. Ads and optional financial rewards remain secondary to the game.

iOS submitted for App Review

PlotLuck was submitted to Apple for review. Submission is a milestone; it does not by itself mean App Store approval or public availability.

Sep 2026

Mobile beta and GPS field testing

Native Android and iOS wrappers, Android closed testing, real movement and backend security became major development priorities.

Ten physical Las Vegas discoveries

The Las Vegas map now contains ten physical Easter eggs tied to real places and local history: Springs Preserve, Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort, Harrison Guest House, Moulin Rouge, Golden Gate’s shrimp cocktail, Tupac at Flamingo/Koval, Gilbert Hyatt’s microprocessor-patent discovery, Mike Tyson/Tiger Mansion, the Welcome sign and Vegas Vic. Physical interaction uses trusted live Real GPS rather than Ghost, Active or cached location data.

Vegas Discoveries opened to the public

The source notes behind those discoveries are now published as a crawlable Vegas Discoveries collection. Each entry explains the history, why it belongs in the map, responsible-location boundaries and links to official institutions or established reporting. No account or GPS permission is required to read the pages.

Physical discovery rewards rebalanced

Las Vegas physical discoveries were standardized to a smaller Upgrade Token reward while preserving the stricter physical-visit gate. The location-agnostic Duck Song Easter egg remains a separate system.

Registration/session race hotfix

The global auth/session listener was kept out of the explicit Create Account and Sign In takeover window so a legitimate foreground registration flow is not signed out while its profile is still being created. Active-device ownership lives in the private UID-scoped user record rather than the public gameplay profile.

Low-read and idle-quiescence pass

Several recurring Firebase paths were removed or bounded. Returning players can reuse server-confirmed display snapshots, broad collection reads are not allowed on ordinary timers, and background/hidden sessions target zero recurring network work. Economy mutations remain server-authoritative at meaningful actions instead of every display tick.

Sep 22, 2026

Floating token movement and reward presentation

A cross-token throttle that could reject legitimate rapid movement was removed while preserving per-token exactly-once cooldown authority. Mobile reward presentation was also tightened so actionable Dig and item rewards remain visible on compact phone screens.

Sep 17, 2026

Map stability and mobile performance

Travel-trail rendering was isolated from the high-frequency live GPS marker, trail redraws were double-buffered, endpoint visuals were throttled and nearby grid chunks were cached/preloaded. The goal was to reduce flashing, unnecessary redraw work and device heat without changing location authority.

Sep 14, 2026

Android wrapper and continuous GPS testing

The Android Trusted Web Activity path was stabilized around the existing website and Firebase account. Testing specifically checks that delegated watchPosition() continues producing repeated movement updates rather than succeeding only on the first location fix.

Sep 11, 2026

Account privacy and ownership security

Private profile information was separated from publicly readable game identity data. Plot ownership writes were restricted to the owning Firebase UID, and unknown Firestore collections remain denied by default.

First recorded Vercel production deployment

PlotLuck’s Vercel activity log records project creation and a production deployment on August 16, 2026. This is evidence of public deployment history, not necessarily first commercial trademark use.

Development notes are descriptive, not permanent promises.

Plot Luck can rebalance or retire experimental features as testing continues. Security, location trust and account ownership rules take priority over preserving a prototype behavior.
